Nothing is more beautiful than a bird dog holding a staunch point on a ruffed grouse, woodcock, or pheasant. Our pointing dog training program helps bring out your dog’s natural prey drive and pointing ability. Before beginning our formal pointing dog training program we expose young dogs to birds in the field while working on basic obedience in the yard. We believe in developing a balanced bird dog. Our Pointing Dog Training program matches the requirement of the AKC for Hunting Tests and consists of preparing your dog for upland hunting. While the actual tests themselves are not a requirement to have a great bird dog, we do feel the AKC Hunt Test program accurately measure performance standards you should expect from a professional pointing dog program. We offer Basic Pointing Dog Training and Advanced Pointing Dog Training programs for your bird dog. We accept the following breeds into our pointing dog program: English Pointers, English Setters, German Shorthairs, Brittanys, Drahthaars, Pointing Labs, and Pudelpointers.
1. Basic Pointing Dog Training
All dogs that go through our hunting dog training program must complete obedience training, this is the foundation work that all our advanced-level training is built upon. Dogs that complete the Basic Pointing Dog Training program are ready to gun over and run AKC Senior Hunter (SH) Tests.

2. Advanced Pointing Dog Training
If you are looking for a finished pointing dog, nothing is more satisfying than seeing a dog lock up on point, stay steady to wing and shot and make a clean retrieve and delivery to hand. Pointing dogs that complete the Advanced Pointing Dog Training program are truly finished upland bird dogs and ready to run AKC Master Hunter (MH) Tests. Advance Pointing Dog Training includes everything in the basic program but also exposes dogs to brace work and backing other dogs when on point.
